The Film "Legion" And What You Need To Know About It

By Daryl Mitchell

There are a few films that come out every single year that are just too good not to see. While 2010 might have been littered with these films, one of the films that many people were talking about was the action picture "Legion".

There are actually several different things that you might care to know about this film. Through the course of this article, you can get few different pieces of relevant information about this critically acclaimed film. More than this, you are going to get a breakdown of the plot and a few of the actors and actresses that made this film extraordinary.

One thing that you might care to keep in mind about this article will be that there will not be nothing spoiled by you reading into the plot of this film. This would be ideal synopsis for someone who wanted to learn a little more about the film without getting the entire thing spoiled for you.

This film actually starts out with two friends standing out by a swingset and discussing the future. Jeep is a man who is completely infatuated with Charlie, the pregnant woman that is swinging on the swing before him. He tells her that he will be able to provide for her, and he wants to raise the baby with her. She does not seem overly thrilled about this possibility and kind of shrugs him off.

There are some tussles, as you meet the archangel Michael (Paul Bettany) who is a fallen angel who has taken it upon himself to defend the human race against extinction. You learn that God is not pleased with those on Earth, and much like the biblical flood, has decided that the time has come to start all over again. Instead of the flood, he is sending leagues of angels to eradicate mankind.

The audience learns that the hope of mankind really rests in the birth of one child. This child is sort of the product of a miracle in its own right, and it is also the child that happens to be growing inside of Charlie. The angels have come with the purpose of killing the child, because if it is born than mankind can be saved. There are a group of people that find themselves pent up in Bob's (Dennis Quaid) gas station/auto shop/restaurant fending off the end of the world together.

The hope of her protection rests in Michael, the angel that has become human to save mankind. He tells in the movie about how he was able to watch the world formed and mankind created, and he too loved them as much as God did. He will risk everything to see it survive. There will be nothing that will stop him, except perhaps an epic showdown with a former friend and angel military leader. This battle will likely determine the fate of the entire world.

"Legion" is quite an exceptional film. It ties in concepts that have rarely been touched upon and a visual masterpiece on the screen. While there are certainly other things to know and appreciate about this film, this should be a great place to get you started if you had just wanted to get a little more information. - 40731
